Can I have an 'I don't care about your sexuality because I'm not sleeping with you' month?

I'm so sick of people freaking out over things that don't concern them!

BINGO. Why can't these people just MYOB? Why do they claim they want less government, and then use government as a cudgel to harm others who don't fall into lock-step with their thinking? How boring the world would be if everyone was a carbon copy of some old racist, sexist, homophobic white man. P.S. I'd rather be "forward" than "straight."

Naw, because they don't want to face the crimes of white supremacy. Butt hurts them to realize what terrible people their grandparents and before were.

This was beautifully said. I am also in no need of Straight Month, but to the LGBTQ+ community, I wish you all 🏳️‍🌈 Happy Pride Month 🏳️‍⚧️

The entitled love to play the victim because empathy is such a foreign concept to them. Thank you James, for pointing out the truth of these sad and sorry folks.

I used to think cruel sociopaths, narcissists, psychopaths, and people who lack empathy and insight in general were somewhat rare. Now I am constantly shocked to find out what a large part of the population falls into this category.

I'm straight, quite comfortable in my sexuality thank you .... I don't care what anyone else "is", I'm not offended in any way for whatever you are ...NOT MY BUSINESS!

Maybe those that do "seem" to be at odds with someone else's sexuality, need to review themselves! ...and more importantly, mind THEIR business!!

Sub note: Of ALL the straight people I've met that have made the most noise about the topic, they eventually became "non" straight.... maybe there is a psychological need to lash out at their fear, before they accept it in themselves, or someone else figures out they are gay, before they do! ...just an observation over many years! So now, I just accept the point that those that make the most noise themselves, are gay ....and in transition. As a human being, I accept you as you are, not as how, I want you to be, is NOT my call to influence or change you, nor anyone elses!

In reply to my query on Mother's Day when Children's Day was celebrated, my mother replied, "Every day, Jackie."

When I was a kid and Mother's Day or Father's Day would roll around we'd get the cards, breakfast in bed, etc. for our parents. One day we asked Mom, "when is Children's Day?" Response? "Every day is Children's Day!" Same for Straight Pride Month - every month is Straight Month! Some people spend way too much time worrying about who everyone else is sleeping with!

I wonder out of all those that you have blocked are lashing out because they’re in the closet, struggling &/or ashamed with the fact that they are attracted to the same sex as they are, & hate themselves for that fact & can’t/won’t accept themselves.

Self hate doesn't justify or excuse what they are doing. They can still fuck all the way off.

I went to a job interview today. I dressed up about as girly as I could... though I couldn't bring myself to wear make-up. I prayed that they wouldn't ask me about my husband and force me to chose between lying and outing myself. I have been in situations where I was publicly shamed and almost attacked for holding hands with my at-the-time girlfriend, and nobody came to my aid. I have been rejected by my family and people at work... its hard to be "out and proud" in America for some of us. I am hoping that people understand that we have Pride Month to celebrate who we are.. and more importantly to remind everyone else that it's OK to be gay.

Probably much the same people who whine every year about International Women's Day, and insist on a Men's Day.

They're never satisfied when they're told that it's in November, and demand that women organise celebrations on the day.

Guys, it's your day. Celebrate it, don't celebrate it, we don't care - but do your own work.

Good post. It reminds me of what I say to (white) people who would complain about the phrase Black Lives Matter. If they said to me, also a white person, don’t white lives matter? My response was always “ because it was always assumed white lives matter. You never had to fight to matter.”

They like to play the ‘victim’ role and as we all know, it has led to a rise in right wing populism and the election of Donald Trump. Thank you for standing up to this ridiculousness with good old common sense. And humour. Always appreciated.

What's going on is reminiscent of nothing so much as the Chinese Cultural Revolution, although Pol Pot's pogroms would qualify as well. In democracies, where most people are, let's face it, not only unintelligent but also increasingly ignorant with age, a politician who can appeal to that mediocrity by punishing talent and accomplishment can assuage their guilt and make them fans for life. Oscar Wilde and Alan Turing didn't kill anybody, but they were persecuted as if they had.
