Definitely a cult. We were members for about a year when I was a teen in the 80s, and after learning more about the cult, we decided it wasn't for us. Lemme tell you, they're like the mafia when you want to "leave the family". We moved several times trying to get away from them, and they continued to hound us by sending missionaries to our door, every fucking time! We actually had to sign excommunication paperwork to finally get them off our backs! It was a nightmare! Sick, sick people! 🙄😑
I went to college in Southern Utah and there was a town in Colorado City, AZ. We had a few men at the school all going for teacher certification. Other than they dressed funny, we didn’t pay attention to them. Then I started working with some of the kids. Girls don’t go to school past 8th grade, boys usually go to at least some high school. If they go to college (and it’s rare) they were always in the education program. Creepy once we figured out what was going on. Most of the LDS faculty didn’t see the problem.
