This 'murican started wondering when a 9/11-type event would happen after reading John Hersey's "Hiroshima" at 13, in the 1970's. That was long before I knew about this country's long history of being fairly like every other powerful, colonialist government in history while lying and claiming to be all about "Freedom!" I get the grief of 9/11 -- the individual Americans and their families who died and have suffered since then didn't deserve to pay for the justified rage of oppressed people (who themselves never deserved to be oppressed) against the American government. But the indignation and mass, hysterical rage of powerful white people being denied our supposedly gods-given right to consequence-free living? This shit has been embarrassing and devastating to see.
It took ‘nads to post this on 9/11. I anticipate many of my fellow ‘muricans will clutch their pearls and you may lose followers.
