Given that you mentioned Washington State, I'm surprised you didn't mention Point Roberts, WA, that little chunk of land only attached to British Columbia but south of the 49th Parallel.
I went down there for a beer run long ago on my way to the ferry thinking I'd save money. Customs hosed us on the way back.
I've heard that, I have friends who live in Tsawwassen and went there frequently pre-pandemic.
