My favorite histories to read are the ones that involve names that are familiar, but I either cannot remember why or didn't know the backstory. This is one of those names I am familiar with but didn't know the story. Thanks.

You mention "Great Mutinies" in the French army. I've heard (but haven't verified) that US soldiers sent to Korea took to standing outside in the winter in wet clothing to catch pneumonia and get sent home. A book that talks about all the ways that soldiers have *resisted* serving and/or killing others would to my mind be a good thing.
