As the very recent victim of a fall that resulted in a series of bone breaks (7 of them), I got a real laugh out of your “Ow, fuck! Ow, fuck! Ow, fuck!” In fact, my ability to still groan out several hundred more "fucks!" helped my rescuers realize that "Oh, this guy is probably going to live."

Well I bought your book for my grandkids, but this brilliant piece is one they’ll know about anyway - I told them all of us had the same “yiayia” - she was black and born in Africa.
They named her Lucy because they don't want you to know, but the missing links had LSD! She didn't fall! She jumped because she thought she could fly! (We have conspiracy theories around everything else, so why not about Lucy?)
Looking at Lucy's skeletal remains indicates that she had some serious trauma at the end of her life. I wonder why there were no other remains like hers in the same general area. It would have been interesting to piece together members of her group (tribe).
I haven’t written about any early male hominids, but if the sex was male you can be assured the commentary would have been the same. I’m with John regarding the eye rolling.
