Didn't they just? And I am a descendant of that fuckery. An Australian-born Anglo-Indian with a bit of French and British and if you go far enough back, there's some Ottoman, too.

Shit continued to go downhill until they figured out how to make money enslaving and selling Africans in the recently discovered New World. Five hundred and twenty years later, the world still suffers from the legacy of that first fateful trip. Damned near causing the death of democracy in America just so that the undeserving can claim to rebuild an empire that long ago outlived its usefulness.
