First of all, speaking as a Floridian, I have to point out that it's not all meth and gators down here. There are a fuck-ton of old assholes too. They call it "God's Waiting Room" for a reason. But yeah... there's a shitload of meth and gators. I've only lived here for 9 years, but I can tell you some crazy-ass stories about "Florida Man."

I lived in FL in 2000. That whole cluster fuck was like watching a really bad fake reality show. The hanging chad debacle was bad enough (lots of members of God's Waiting Room just couldn't figure out how to literally punch out their choice in the voting booth and the time spent on microscopically examining those ballots was almost entertaining), but the injustice that the supposedly Supreme Justices handed down was almost criminal. Yup, fuck Ralph Nader.
I wanted to vote for Nader but knew he couldn’t win and would take votes away from Gore, so I voted for Gore. Didn’t matter because the only candidates that I ever voted for who actually won were Carter and Obama.
This sure is how I felt about the SCOTUS stepping in to stop a legitimate recount. And who knows? That recount just might have handed Gore the election. But my real anger goes to Nader. Sure, in his younger days he likely saved a lot of lives by insisting on seat belts in all cars and getting exploding Corvairs off the highways. But he was likely paid a lot of money by corporate donors and the Republican Party to run for President because they KNEW Gore had a great chance of winning. It would be interesting to see how many other states Cheney won because Nader spoiled Gore's count. Our country would be a very different place and we'd have thousands of living soldiers if Gore had won. In fact, he just might have been paying enough attention to the warnings to sniff out and snuff out the 9/11 attack.
I’ve always thought it was ironic that the guy who was for the supposedly earth friendly Green Party was the fulcrum of the tipping point to turn the planet into a giant shithole just so he could feed his gynourmous ego
My anger is directly on SCOTUS, who had no legitimate reason to “call” an election. Separation of powers - judiciary interfering with executive branch. We’ve seen this crazy-ass sh!t twice now - 2000 election and 2016. Reform or outright ABOLISH the Electoral College, which allows the minority to rule over the majority. 😡
