I went to UTEP, which was Texas Western University in 1966 when the first team of black players and white players-an integrated team-won the NCAA championship under the guidance of Coach Don Haskins, who received threats because he integrated his team. He went on to coach many TWU/UTEP teams before retiring.

TBH, I don't give a shit about basketball, even if my local football (soccer) team up the coast from me plays in a stadium next to that of the Belgian basketball champions!
But what I do care about is how people find ways to end segregation & to try to end racism, one small victory at a time. & the fact that we're still not there, whilst also trying to fight other social injustices, shows how ugly this world really is.
