I had so many friends running Boston that year (with their families in attendance.) It was terrifying not to know whether they were safe or not for several hours. Finally, people started updating FB that they were safe.

I am giving walking tours today in downtown Boston and there are loads of runners and their families here. The papers keep running horrible photos of the events 10 years ago that I frankly cannot make myself look at again. Thank you for this completely appropriate framing of Assholes 1 & 2 and for acknowledging this moment in history!
