But rabid comments like "cry harder pathetic retard" feel so deliberately provocative I am constantly wondering about the role of psychological operations (e.g. Russian troll farms) in keeping the rage volume high.
In my old-ass life, I have never felt a level of fear and hopelessness as I do at this moment. I sobbed when I watched the video of Renee Good getting murdered, compounding that with the massive fuckery and thievery taking place in Venezuela, and the in-your-face hate that we're encountering from anyone who disagrees with us.... I'm just.... lost. The anger doesn't help. The suggestions of what we can do to fight this don't help. People's encouraging words about how maybe tRump will drop dead of a massive thrombosis or something don't help. Right now, nothing helps. And I just have to go about my day, business as usual, while everything inside me melts into a damn puddle.
Our community has been rocked by this. A lot of pain is encompassing our city - but it's also bringing us together in a way it hasn't since George Floyd was murdered. A few thousand people came out Wednesday evening to honor and remember Renee Nicole Good. And to tell ICE, "get the f&ck out of our city". The vileness of people is astounding to me. My best friend told me once that she was sad I no longer see the world like I used to - full of love and kindness and community. I remember the exact moment it happened: 1:30 a.m. CT on Wednesday, November 9, 2016. However, after witnessing the outpouring of love last night in Minneapolis, I have hope in this world. Not a lot - but it's growing.
