Rather than put a label on it, let me just relay what I believe, what I support, what I want for society. Others can define it however they see fit. I’m speaking as a Canadian, but much of my audience is American. And so, some of the stuff I say that I “want” I personally already have. I also want it for people in the United States, because I really like you folks. Most of you folks. I’d also like to see it throughout the world, but one step at a time.

WOW !! Best rant ever !! Is this in your book.. I have supported the NDP & Liberals for 50+ yrs. since my days in PoliSci. at UofW( no stabbing , just a lot of drugs, hippies & American draft dodgers) we were so close to having Universal Basuc Income here in Ontario then FUCK FORD was elected. Broke me heart . Then he was re-elected. That crushed it.. we’ve won a lot of fights in my time: birth control, abortion, legal weed !! ( my personal favourite) , euthanasia ( which may become my favourite in the future) .. I can only hope my grandchildren can see lots more progress. I’m trying to make sure they’re kind & brave ..
Please be sure to "repost" this on it's own in late fall or early spring - 2024 is coming, and we can't afford to let 2016 ever happen again!!! I know too many people on the far left (every one of them "privileged" - including my son) who want to burn it all to the ground and "start over" … without thinking what that would do to those in our society who are NOT privileged!!
To be fair the Right views the Left as one unified horrible front with 0 nuance as well. But it does feel like the Left is open to compromise and accountability, while the Right is built on authoritarianism. That's why you get the Left eating and bullying it's own, while the Right keeps quiet about horrible stuff the Right is doing just to 'stick it to the libs' even if they don't 100% personally agree with what's happening. But I agree with the general sentiment. It is disappointingly funny watching the Left in the USA pulling it's punches instead of throwing it's majority weight around like the Right.
