Visited Berlin in November and visited the site of the bunker where hitler shot himself and his wife. It is - to this day - a dirt parking lot. And only a smallish touristy sign on the edge mentions what happened there. Our tour guide, who grew up in East Berlin, said that occasionally there are bouquets of flowers left in this parking lot. Still.
Was also thinking about Germany pre-WWII, when it was a beacon of science, reason, philosophy, art. You do realize that it has - to this day - NEVER recovered from the loss of that reputation. Still.
Was in Berlin in 2018 and visited the Sachsenhausen Camp. This was a labour camp but they still had a gas chamber. And I have a photo of the pole they tied gay men to as torture (hands tied behind their backs and a rope attached to pull their arms back and up!).
Many people don't know that Black folk also weren't safe from Hitlers Hate. Anton Kom for example, who wrote a book about slavery, lived in the Netherlands, but was born in Surinam. Waldemar Nod was also from Surinam. Since Surinam was still a Dutch colony by then (I know, we sucked), just like Indonesia, black and Indonesian people were also on Hitlers hitlist. Anton Kom for example, joined the Resistance, got caught, and was killed in a death camp. Waldemar was married to Rika (white dutch woman, in the 1940's!) And they hid Jews in their homes. But since racism is still thriving in our world, many people dont know that Indonesian and black people were also murdered in WW2. I am just learning about it lately and I have had WW2 as an interest since I was a kid.

Wake up, and smell the corruption, folks. 🤮

Now if only our version of the dictator would do the safe and soon.
BTW Mr. Fell, Your SWEARY HISTORY book is great, I'm really enjoying it.
SAME. ...would do the same.
Still it is a coup here full of deceit. Narcissism is characterized by a lack of empathy. Any empathy. Trump and Musk are afflicted. They live in a game of conning others. https://hotbuttons.substack.com/p/hornswaggling-over-100-days?r=3m1bs
Quite.
Nazi fuckers.
He was an utter berk.
