I really love your point about people being willing to risk the death rather than to have an autistic child. As we learn more and more about it, I'm now convinced that it's not a disease, it's just another way that people are different from one another. And the primary disfunction is not of the child but our outdated institutions (like medicine and education). Autistic people have incredible value in our world, but not many recognize that yet. I sure hope that changes soon. Also, fuck Andrew Wakefield.
