Trump Mocks a Disabled Reporter

On This Day in History: November 24, 2015

Oh God he is such a fucking piece of shit. He did mock a disabled reporter and then he lied his ass off about it. Of course, the Trumpanzees believed the lies. That’s what happens when you’re in a fucking cult.

--On This Day in History Shit Went Down: November 24, 2015--

The reporter’s name is Serge F. Kovaleski and he is a Pulitzer Prize–winning investigative journalist for The New York Times. Kovaleski has a congenital condition called arthrogryposis, which restricts joint movement. And at one of Trump’s hate-filled rallies in South Carolina on November 24, 2015, the Fanta Menace did something that should have cost him the election. The fact that it didn’t—and that numerous other displays of his reprehensible character were likewise waved away by those who voted for him—reveals just how fucked-up many in the United States are.

The background is that Trump had oft-repeated a myth of “thousands” of “Arabs” cheering and dancing as the World Trade Center collapsed, saying he personally witnessed them doing it. When called on his bullshit, Trump referenced a piece written by Kovaleski in The Washington Post as evidence it was true, but, being a complete fucking dumbass, he misrepresented the shit out of what Kovaleski wrote. Kovaleski’s 2001 story said only a few people were “allegedly” seen celebrating, and that there were no reports at all, even unsubstantiated ones, of hundreds or thousands cheering and/or dancing.

Kovaleski then released a statement to news organizations confirming what he actually wrote, exposing Trump as a lying fucking liar in the process. Caught out, Cheeto Benito tried to make the reporter appear stupid and confused. “You’ve got to see this guy: ‘Uh, I don’t know what I said. Uh, I don’t remember.’” Trump said this to a crowd while doing a blatant imitation of Kovaleski’s disability.

Revealed once again as a garbage human, two days later Trump released a statement saying, “I have no idea who this reporter, Serge Kovalski [sic], is, what he looks like or his level of intelligence . . . I merely mimicked what I thought would be a flustered reporter trying to get out of a statement he made long ago. If Mr. Kovaleski is handicapped, I would not know because I do not know what he looks like.”

How do we know this is a steaming pile of bullshit? First off, it’s Trump. Lying is what he does. Second, he said, “You’ve got to see this guy” followed by a disgusting and obvious imitation of his disability. Also, we have the words of Kovaleski himself, who said, “Donald and I were on a first-name basis for years. I’ve interviewed him in his office. I’ve talked to him at press conferences. All in all, I would say around a dozen times, I’ve interacted with him as a reporter while I was at The Daily News.”

Such a piece of shit.
