I'm probably not the only history fan who thinks that Guy Fawkes is a dubious choice as a revolutionary icon. He was, after all, a Catholic hard-liner, engaging in his murderous skullduggery in order to restore Popery as supreme law in Protestant England. Not as if this keeps me awake at night.
