And, a new author photo

That’s a wrap on publishing the On This Day in History Shit Went Down stories on Substack. To recap the daily column’s publishing history:

·      All of Volume I was published solely on Facebook from April 18, 2020, to April 17, 2021.

·      All of Volume II was published both on this Substack and on Facebook from April 18, 2021, to April 17, 2022.

·      On June 1 of 2022 I decided fuck it, Facebook is ephemeral. I need a permanent repository of these posts. So, I began publishing Volume I here on Substack. And now that it’s May 31, 2023, the last of Volume I is here.

But it’s worth noting that the ones here on Substack aren’t as refined as the ones you’ll find in the books. Volume II was published as they were created, and went through a lot of edits before showing up in the self-published version of that book. And even with Volume I I’ve used the old versions of the stories and not the new and improved ones that are going to be in the Bantam Books version that comes out this October 10. Pre-order it here.

Speaking of new shit, I had a new author photo taken yesterday. When I posted it on Facebook someone said I “look like a really buff member of The Wiggles” and I laughed and laughed. Finger guns!

But yeah I did do some push-ups before the shoot cuz I wanted my pecs to be jacked to promote the whole “history buff” narrative because I’m a child.
