Smart man not to travel to the U.S. Who wants to hang out in a Fascist and Evil country (one I was embarrassingly born in). And Mexico's about 9 hundred million times safer than anywhere in the U.S. I'm in Puebla, not far from Mexico City, and it's beyond words, in the greatest sense. I've spent many months here in Puebla, as well as many months in half a dozen of Mexico's largest cities, so I honor your decision to return to a great country. Have fun and enjoy Rush. I saw them a gazillion years ago and loved the show!
Rush notes: winter 1977, Kinsmen Hall, Edmonton. My friend and I, first in line for the Rush show, general admission. Doors open and this guy comes out and asks if a few of us super early birds want to help unload some equipment trucks. Fuck yeah! So about a half dozen of us go into the venue and help out a bit, moving monitors, lights and cases around. Then the guy says, you can stay inside till the show starts. Best night ever! Standing right up against the stage (no sissy security moat in those days). Opening act was Max Webster. Kim Mitchel plyed the entire set wearing a pink onesy pyjama! Rush killed it, of course. Geddy’s voice sounded more like razor blades, back then, which I prefer compared to his more mature voice of today. Seen them 8 times. Best band ever (not counting Nickelback!). 😜
My spouse and I hit most of the classic rock bands as they tour. The days are numbered. He loves Alice Cooper who was pivotal during his youth. He was at a Beatles concert as a youth. We also saw Paul and Ringo. Music makes life worth living (among other things). Seeing one of your favorite bands for your birthday is the best birthday ever! Rush is great and loud. Bring your earplugs. 😀
I think the "women don't like Rush" trope has become a bit tired, especially since they've got a ln amazing female drummer touring with them.
I've been a fan of Rush since the first time I heard them in the 70's, I was a woman fronting a rock band, covering their songs for many years, and it's eating me inside out that I am currently too poor to get tickets. I've never missed a tour.
It's true that it used to be that there was never a line for the women's restroom at most shows - true for a lot of prog rock bands - but that's changed. If your wife doesn't like Rush, well I've discovered an awful lot of men don't share my passion for them either.
Have a great time. Enjoy the show. I'm envious as hell.
The opening bars of Tom Sawyer stir the hearts of every Canadian. It’s hard to reconcile how a group can have been successful for so long (I saw them in the 70s - Farewell to Kings tour) and still be a “cult” band. Enjoy!

I'm looking forward to vicariously experiencing this adventure!

Have a great time, and return refreshed for lots more sweary historying (or sweaty historying as autocorrect keeps insisting).

Enjoy the show! ¡Olé!
I've been needing an adventure! This will be fun.
Oof, a scrapbooking cruise! Sign me up!
Ah, here's my answer! I hope you and Jorge have a blast.
There is one good reason I won't leave the US:
I am working on making this a better nation. I am sickened by the fact that I will not live to see a better nation, but it will happen.
So here's to 8647.
