World War I was the opposite of fun. Taking place from 1914 to 1918, the conflict saw over 60 million troops from at least 30 nations fighting. Nine million people died.

There were also about 50,000 dogs involved in the war. Some were on guard duty, warning of the encroaching enemy. Others were turned into draft animals, harnessed to carts to pull machin…
