Okay. I said Fuck it and bought your miserable book. Only because I lost a jacket once. In a bar in Montana, when I got drunk. And my girlfriend and my son walked me out of the place and stupidly left my jacket. I was obviously incapacitated, a rare occurrence, hardly ever happens, just this once, but goddamnit, it wasn’t my fault. And when I went back for it the next day, having slept off whatever demon had possessed me, the jacket was gone. Poof. As if it had simply vanished. Which it didn’t, polyester not a substance known to transubstantiate of its own free will. Some fucker took it. And that’s how I will come to own the digital data you created. And probably read. For my own fucking amusement.

Huge drag about the jacket!

I just can’t use Amazon but have found other options without issue.

Hope you find another just as good.

Ok.....here's the thing. Since I cannot in good conscience buy anything from Amazon I use https://bookshop.org. Some of the proceeds go to helping independent bookstores across the country. You can even choose your favorite. Bezos lost me a long time ago due to his aggressive and hostile attitude towards his employees, and the frosting on the cake was his $50 million dollar wedding. Dude, if you can afford that, you don't need my money. You, James, need my money.

I'm reading vol 2 now. They're both SO good!! A completely unreasonable response to losing a jacket--move to Texas, you won't need one. 🤣 (j/k, obviously don't move to TX, it sucks)

No no no. Your good deed and your jacket being stolen are two separate events, entirely unrelated. The only dumbassery here is you attempting to equate petty theft with the really kind thing you did for a complete stranger. I'm actually thinking your good deed was rewarded by you, for some reason, not having anything important zippered up when the jacket was stolen.

I’m about to go order (another copy), but I want to know about the jacket. It seems ideal for PNW weather!

Hope you get another good zippered pocket jacket! I had no idea about the connection between my love of zippered pockets and ADHD. I always look for zippered pockets in my jackets. I get anxious when my husband wears jackets with unzippered pockets or doesn't zip them up as I think he'll lose his wallet/keys/phone.

[in a weedy country voice]🎵 For all the coats I’ve l̴o̴v̴e̴d̴ lost before … 🎶 😜

Not a fan of Amazon but knew I’d find it on Kobo🇬🇧 (because that’s where I got the first one)!

That suuuuuuuucks! I had my favourite jacket stolen at the bar many years ago. Still bothers me.

I will purchase because the last month has been horrendous for my husband and I. We need a change of luck. 🇦🇺

It’s a new month. I hope this month makes up for June. 🍀

I bought 3 each of Books One and Two last Christmas for my grandsons. I thought they needed to know what was really going on. I shall buy the new one when it comes out but I think I've done my bit for now. BTW my daughter (their mother) was born in British Columbia so is a dual citizen. They live the far north of Maine so I think of that as nearly Canada. Potatoes everywhere. No plans to invade Canada but she has given thought to returning to BC. If it weren't for winter, I'd live up there too.
