Yesterday I did a book signing at Owl’s Nest Books, wearing the shirt that won the vote vs. my Iron Maiden shirt. Maybe for my next signing I’ll wear Iron Maiden. It’s “Alexander the Great,” so it’s history themed. Anyway, it was a big success, with a constant stream from 20 minutes before the scheduled start until about 15 after it was supposed to wrap up. We ended up selling over 80 books, and I got to meet some wonderful people.
Interestingly, even before all those sales, and right in the middle of Calgary’s Wordfest, my book was already the bestselling one in the province. At least for nonfiction. I don’t know how it ranks against the novels.
With the sales we had yesterday I might hit that list again this coming week. Also, according to the Toronto Sun, the book debuted at #10 Canada wide. The paper referred to it as “audaciously titled.”
For the signing, I’m always a bit worried that no one is going to show to these things, which is why I hype the shit out of them because having no one come is embarrassing. But folks came and I am most appreciative. I took a lot of selfies with anyone who asked, and also signed earlier versions of books that people already owned. One lovely young girl named Molly colored a Halloween picture for me and I put it on display.
If you follow me on Facebook, you might know of my bromance with Father Nathan Monk. He’s the author of the novel Russian Sleeper Cell. We share a lot of fans, and people have taken my book to his signings, and he’s signed him, so of course when someone brought his book to my signing, I had to do the same. If you know anything about our friendship, I of course had to make it weird.
Anyway, keep on buying the fucker, and maybe I’ll make a list in the United States. No plans for any kind of book tour at this point. You basically have to be a megastar author for those these days. But if I decide to throw my bike in the van and do a road trip next summer, I may plan some signings at bookstores along the way.
In the meantime, signed copies can be purchased from Owl’s Nest, and regular copies can be had via my website.

Nice to see you again! Love that shirt!
We'd love to see you in the States, especially the West Coast. More specifically in Seattle ish. I've bought all versions of this book and would actually stand in line and try to think of something witty to say, which will probably end up being weird and ridiculous because I also have ADHD brain and it will have skipped ahead a million conversations we've never had. Kinda like this message. 😂
