Brief Befuddlement vs. Incessant Irrationality

Recently we were looking after my son’s two dogs, Rico and Rue. We also have a new dog of our own, Lucy. During the eleven days we dog sat, I confused Rue and Lucy’s names over a dozen times. I was called on it, and knew it was a mistake I kept making, and yet I kept confusing the two anyway. Do I have dementia?

Earlier this week speaker Mike Johnson was on Meet the Press and confused Iran with Israel. The two nations could not be more different. Does Mike have dementia?

Yesterday, Fox News’s Jesse Watters was making “hrrr hrrr Joe Biden has dementia hrrr” commentary while interviewing South Dakota governor Kristi Noem, but he introduced her as the governor of South Carolina. Does Jesse have dementia?

People fuck up names All. The. Time. It doesn’t mean they have dementia. The latest “bombshell” about President Biden’s brain isn’t one. Yeah, he confused Egypt with Mexico. How many times did Combover Caligula recently confuse Nikki Haley with Nancy Pelosi in a single speech? Seven?

In a recent press conference, President Biden appeared slightly miffed at questions about his mental acuity; I would have been far more pissed off. Jaundiced Jesus gets unlimited passes for his fuck ups, but Biden has to be perfect or the Trumpanzees shriek dementia!

More important is that there are key points a lot of people are missing regarding the accusation of dementia. I’ll break it down.

Robert Hur was appointed special counsel last year to investigate Biden having classified documents in his garage of his Delaware home. Hur investigated and said he’s not pressing charges. Part of the reason Hur gave for not pressing charges is Biden’s memory. It’s a fucking smear campaign intended to help Tangerine Palpatine. Some things to consider:

• Hur is making a massive assumption. Hur said that IF he brought charges that Biden would PROBABLY say “Oh I have a bad memory” and therefore the charges won’t stick and so I’m not bringing them.

• Hur is NOT a mental health professional and has zero expertise in assessing age-related memory loss.

• Hur was appointed to the justice department by the orange shitgibbon. Hur is a fucking MAGAt.

Biden’s possession of classified documents is completely different than Tangerine Palpatine’s theft of state secrets. Trump did everything he could to prevent the government from taking back the documents he stole, ignoring subpoenas and attempting to block investigators. Conversely, Biden was legally allowed to be in possession of those documents, and when he found them, he told the Department of Justice to come get them. There was NO CASE and Biden is fully exonerated, but Hur decided to throw the “failing memory” dig at Biden as a way to help out Eric’s dad in the forthcoming election, because, again, fucking MAGAt.  

Joe Biden is eighty-one, and his memory isn’t going to be perfect. But here are some important facts to consider about the upcoming presidential election:

• President Biden is the nominee. That’s a fact that won’t change. Your screams of “We need someone younger! We need fresh blood!” may have some merit, but it will make zero difference in this election. He is the Democratic Party nominee for 2024 and that is fucking that. End of.

• Anyone with the cognitive capabilities of a capybara can tell that the Manchurian Cantaloupe actually is suffering serious mental decline. Biden is old but fit and still sharp. We are watching Trump decay both physically and mentally in real time.

• As a testament to Biden’s sharpness, he recently laid a trap for Trump and the GOP regarding border security, and they fell right into it. It was brilliant political maneuvering on Biden’s part. The man knows what he’s doing.

• Biden’s record as president has been exceptional, undoing much of the fuckery caused by Scooby Coup.

• Biden has shown good judgement and an even temperament, whereas Voldemoron has diaper-filled toddler tantrums on the regular.

• Nazis don’t support President Biden, but they are big fans of Donny Crappleseed.

• President Biden is not currently facing ninety-one criminal indictments.

• In the upcoming election, it’s an accomplished statesman with an excellent record and a highly qualified backup in Vice-president Kamala Harris, or it’s the end of American democracy via the autocratic President-for-Life Donald Trump.
